Most Powerful Corporate Brands of Recent Years

There are so many successful brands across the world who have dominated their industry; here we take a look at some British brands who have become household names and stood the test of time.

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of successful brands across the world that constantly strive to be at the top of their industry. A powerful brand is one that has strong values and a clear message, as well as doing well in terms of business and profit. It is often American brands that dominate the world, such as the powerhouse of Coca Cola, but the UK can hold its own very well when it comes to corporations and well-known brands. These brands often become household names and you’ll probably have come across them in your daily life. Here at Outstanding Branding we appreciate the power of a good brand and the hard work it takes to build something up to a great success. Take a look at a few British brands that have withstood the test of time.

British Airways

With a 95-year history, British Airways has been a top brand for members of the public and other businesses alike. It’s a company that has been at the forefront of aviation for some time now, with a number of firsts under its belt including having the first commercial jet and the first fully flat beds on its aircraft.

The company has seen a lot of changes over the years as time has progressed, making flights to India as early as 1929. From helping with the war efforts back in the 1940s, to unveiling the new Boeing 787 Dreamliners in 2008.

The British Airways brand encompasses luxury and ease, taking almost 40 million customers a year to over 180 destinations worldwide. Instantly recognisable, this premium airline company’s most recent brand campaign is ‘To Fly. To Serve.’

John Lewis

This particularly famous department store has been in our lives for 150 years, building up its well-known reputation and brand in the meantime. The John Lewis brand was built around value, integrity and vision. Its founder, John Spedan Lewis created business principles that are still apparent to this day, including purpose, power, profit and community. Including its mantra of ‘Never Knowingly Undersold’, John Lewis has created a brand that not only produces highly anticipated Christmas adverts every year, but improves customer’s and employee’s experience constantly.

corporate brand dyson

James Dyson became frustrated with his vacuum cleaner no longer working to its original standard, and began to conjure up ideas of how he could improve the inner workings of it. In 1978 he set to work on improving it and five years later he invented the world’s first bagless vacuum cleaner.

Now, when you hear Dyson, you immediately think of efficiency, innovation and technology. The brand has grown since the 70s into a multinational corporation, expanding from one man and his idea to vacuums in over 65 countries.

Of course, to build a strong brand you need a number of different factors to help it grow, including branded products which can add to your general brand experience for both employees and consumers. Check out our range of branded promotional products to help you get started today!
